Wishful thinking

The first week of block 10 has come and go. And I think many can agree that time flies really fast. Since the start of 08, its been a whirlwind. One thing that stood out was osip.
This was the only time when the time passed really slowly. For those who aren't in the loop, osip stands for overseas internship. Jan 08 was a time to get portfolios approved and it was tough. My design was rejected during the first round of consultations. It was pretty disheartening since I rushed back from Jilin trip and spent my last few days (and nights) of precious dec holiday to be doing it.
On a positive note, who knows that I can become a fashion designer?
The lecturer had commented that the portfolio was very fulid like fabric patterns (which was very apparel design) and had me change to hard architecture lines. But after all that consultation, it was finally approved. But came the osip interview. On the day of the interview, I received an email just 3 hours before the interview that I not in the list. Checked out with cm and was told to just come for the interview. So we came in formal with portfolios ready.
Then the shocker came.
Turns out two of our friends could not go for the interview due to not fufilling the interview requirement. All of us were in disbelief. To think that you have done everything and to be rejected on the spot is really not fair for all that effort put in. To cut short the whole long drama, I went through the interview only to be told the next day that I was also in the same boat as the other two. Only this time, I'm an innocent party who was just unlucky to be the 1 out of the approx 300 to be not registered in studentcomm. After a slow 6 days wait, all 8 of us was approved for osip.
To sum it up, I was pleasantly surprised how many people came up to me to say that they will support me. I think many were shocked that I was in that situation since they saw me in the studentcomm. Was very touched by the simple gestures my friends did for me. In a way, this whole situation got the 8 of us a bit more closer, like understanding each other and rallying behind one another.
But there will always be sequel to the drama, and instead of being happy, it seems the whole osip process is kind of draining our morale. One thing I do hope...
I hope the answer would come SOON.
