Yesterday was full of stuff...
Hady and Jon from Singapore Idol came to our school. There were so many people crowding them that we didn't get a clear snap of them. And the music the musicans played were super loud and noisy! We tried to get a glimse at them... and many of us girls just went wild when we saw Jon! He was so cute... Surprisingly, we weren't fans of them or the show. Yet when you come face to face with them, your reaction will be so different from what you see on the tv.
For all out there who wants to know how they act the scenes, the camera man will ask the crowd and idols to prepare yourself and then they shouted, "one two three" and then everyone did their "act". I don't know if we got caught on tv... cos we were standing around there... hahah...
So i had to resort to asking around for pics. Our IAD senior gave me one of Hady's pic. But i wanted Jon's. Sad man... And look at the crowd. okee... Hady and Jon look small in the pic.
So the group of our Cheesecake left for Marina South for steamboat! As a way of a last gathering before our class split into diffferent classes. There was a big crowd at the bus stop, so we walked all the walk in the dark. After that wet (drizzle), missing a bus and the long walk we got there!
We ate a lot and got ourselves burnt by the oil and burning up our stove till its black! Some of them played a game of scissors paper stone and the loser had to eat a big scoop of butter or a raw egg. It was gross seeing them try it out. But too bad i didn't there try that... freeky man.
So we left around 10 plus. We tried to get a taxi from the steamboat area. But the bus came. So we got on the bus and went to marina bay mrt. thinking there is another exit, we walked all the way there and found out they blocked the other side. So we came out of the station and back to the bus stop. We had thought that the other gp of them (Mat, Yiu Hei and Brandon) had already gotten a cab.
But from the corner of the road, we saw the threesome raising their hands in a random formation to flag a cab. we tried to wave and get their attention but they realised only 5 mins later. So all of us (the threesome, Mel, Deb, Lene and me) stood on the road like we owned it and tried to flag a cab. But it was deserted and man were changing shift.
Thank Goodness we managed to flag one down which we gave to deborah and lene who were sharing. So the rest of us were left stranded there. We tried to do the formation hand signal and even doing a hitchhike sign to get the attention of the people. We thought it worked when a van came by.
It was actually a Maxi cab. He wanted to charge five people (going to 5 places) at $45 which had been given a discount of $5 already (original was $50). But we just stood there for a long time deciding. We decided it wasn't worth it and apologized. but the taxi driver still stayed there, thinking we will change our minds. And that Brandon was actually watching the tv inside that showed a Korean show while we were trying to "bargain" with the taxi driver! Hmmh.
So we waited on the road for a LONG 45 mins and then decided to take the MRT. it resulted in Mel and me taking it striaght back home. the rest took to some other place where there WERE taxis.
Though this gathering was suppose to be a class outing, many didnt turn up and so it was incomplete. Yesterday all of us totally smelt of barbeque and we're so full! Looks like I can't eat so much tomorrow!
