16th June 06'Today was the day I paid up the cost of the book (Fear Without Glass: Mies Van Der Rohe) with my friend. But the thing is we had to claim it as LOST. But I do hope that whoever who had taken it will return it back to the library. I also learnt a lesson that I must be more responsible when holding on to people things... even when I'm busy.
Before this incident, I had prayed a lot that this would be a great miracle to show my friend that I have a LIVING GOD who we can put our hope and trust in. As she didn't have much hope about getting the book back. Though we had paid and claim it as lost, I do hope if people around could PRAY:
1. That the book will be return back to the library.
2. That my friend can see that we have a great God who can do wonders and miracles!
So do pray for me! Thank you! At night, I went to Changi Airport to see Eileen off. It's quite fast that we're able to see her in December for that holidays. Also, she has such a great boss who will allow her to work in December and get no pay leave! What I find cool is that she gets a SQ flight to Stralia! (the same way Aussies say it)
We took some time in BK to chitchat. I just realised that Australia is so strict with bringing in chocolates and all kind of food! Oh well, it's a precaution I guess... I took quite a few pics of her (will upload in shutterfly soon) and some different moments/ posture/ actions she was doing. But I got kind of distracted with the new architecture in Changi Airport that I was busy taking those instead!
We left at around 2230 and went to Grace O's place for mugging and overnight stay. By the time we reached there, it was close to midnight. I was the last to change when I went to the toilet. Then "strange" things started happening...
When I opened the door, Jennifer stood right in front of it. She kept on blocking my way and started asking me things like,"where did you get this shirt? So nice... you're in swift? (a running club that I didn't know about it!)" It was kind of weird of her to start talking to me when I just came out of the toilet. I knew something was up with her. As I was about to reach the dinning area, I noticed that the two Graces weren't there mugging! And I knew something was going to happen... Both of them came out with a cake for me! It was around 1215 when we cut the cake. ( The latest I got last time was 11.30 on 16 June, so this is wee early in the morning!) It was a coffee and choc cake. (if I tasted correctly!)
I asked if Jen was the decoy to disturb me. And true enough, she was! But I felt that it would be a much better choice if either one of the Graces did it. Because it would be more difficult to rat them out. Jen tried her best to distract but it was a bit not convincing. ( I think it was her choice of topic)
So after all this fun, we mugged through the morning... For me, I had to prepare word (Bible Study) while the rest were sprouting "chemistry lingo". It was so "chim" for me when they talked. But after a while, we started talking about life, people and dum di dum about things... Soon it was 5am, and so Grace G and I were the first to knock out. Next was Jen (6am). And Grace O at 7am! Since her sofa was L-shaped, I was left with a small portion at the end of it. I was sleeping in a weird position. (A mix of sitting and lying flat) (you can imagine how pain that was!)
17th June 06'Morning came fast... and soon it was lunch... went to church around 3pm to meet YP to discuss on BS. Met up with Aunty Choi Yin along the way. She treated me to a drink, which was nice of her. (actually, Grace G kind of prompted her about my bday!)
Discussed about BS. Asked the cell to act in a skit based on that day's scripture would allow them to be in the character and also ask them questions based on their characters. I also brought some props like skate guards, scarf and newspaper for them to use. (thanks to the threesome for coming up with this idea!) The scripture? It was on the crucifixion.
Cell: YP told the cell that it was my bday and asked them to sing bday song. But I guess they were quite reluctant. (YP was kind of entu about singing... some of the guys kind of went off tune... hahha...was comical!)
Cell was really small. And role-play was really messy. I guess everyone was so excited.
1. Poor "Jesus" was so shy to act the dying part! He just stood there like a stick.
2. There was also a part where people threw insults. Some used newspaper to throw at him. (floor was messy...)
3. Temple curtain was suppose to tear from top to bottom. But it got teared bit by bit from top to bottom!
4. Our centurion (YP) wore skate knee guards and acted her role...
So it was kind of funny to see how they acted but I should have given time for them to rehearse. ( I guess I lost of my director's touch from camp... miss it man!)
Cell ended early. Had ushering. Then the most surprising thing happened. YP and the cell group girls came up to me with a sonic edge boot camp shirt as my present! It was so sweet of them to buy. And was so sweet of them to change the colour for me willingly!
Sermon: Saving Money... Pastor Lawrence taught about how to save it and not to be the rich fool.
Went for dinner with the threesome, Kenneth and Gideon. Then left for MRT (and as pronounced by GG... MUD or MUT)... home. We met up with some "drunkards" along the way... who kept on shouting Kenneth's name. (and one of them was GG's bro... and Jonathan's (the fat one) face was so red like a drunkard! They kept on playing at the MRT station...
When I was on the MRT, two guys (anonymous) smsed me to wish me happy birthday. Apparently, both sms came in at the same time and both had the exact words! Was so funny... that I was actually smiling in the MRT lah...
So this has been a very wonderful, great and blessed birthday. On my 17th bday on the 17th... and reading seventeen! (hahaha... just kidding about the seventeen mag part!)
So to this people who make it happened on this wonderful day:1. Grace O (who gladly opened her house to let us study and who bought the cake)
2. Grace G (who wrote me a bday card, and it was props not crops used in BS!)
3. Jennifer (who gave me a cute handphone accessory and the decoy who distracted me)
4. YP (who gladly bought the sonic edge shirt for me even though she kind of like it too... but was waiting for the price to drop!)
5. Gideon and Kenneth (for their funny bday wish to me)
6. The Pri6 cell (for singing a funny bday song and the girls for surprising me with the shirt)
7. Elisa (for sending a sweet sms to me all the way from down under... though I'm not sure how much it cost for her)
8. Garfield (for her boho necklace... though I found it a bit stiff... but its nice!)
9. Odie (for her appreciation photo frame... which was so thoughtful and sweet of her)
10. Louie (for her cross necklace which was nice and cool and her short and sweet letter)
All the small little things and thoughts that counts! And thank you to all who say, smsed, gave me a hug for my birthday!
