DAY 3:
(Pls. be mindful that this is only a summary of the camp. Not all details are added in.) (Why did I not blog about it earlier? I had to compile my thoughts about the three days!)Breakfast: I decided to be a kind soul and help my friends to carry our 3 bowls of mee soto. But as I walked, I missed a step on the staircase and kind of wobbled and the 3 bowls nearly fell off the tray. Woah! Thank goodness I held the tray tightly!
(Steady!)
But the
BEST thing was after drinking the Nescafe blended coffee; it totally refreshed and woke me up! And it didn’t have the bitter taste I was expecting!
(I’m usually a tea lover!)
After breakfast, we were given our design T-shirt
(turquoise) and the campignite shirt (the overturn one). We were then instructed to wear both T-shirts; with the white one overlapping the other.
Then an early lunch was given. Though I did not want to eat, I forced myself. (Or I’ll get indigestion again!) The food was totally so so much better now! We had rice, veg and
nuggets (my fave) and totally
COLD, CREAMY cream puffs! (Mouth water!)Before we left to the stadium, we prepared (or "armed") ourselves with designer books, flags, dustbin covers, slippers, water guns, toilet signboards (washing in progress) and bamboo poles!
We entered the stadium by pretending to read our designer’s books. (Just to show to the other schools that we are also book smart too!) We used our water bottles to hit and bang on the dustbin covers, took off our white shirt to swing it around in the air and used our slippers to make the shape of a flying butterfly! Then, it was time to start the final clash of games!
During all the events our friends played, everyone just kept on cheering and screaming.
(Imagine that scenario!) We didn’t even cared if all of us were smelly/sweaty and crazy people just yelling!
After the games were done, we headed over to Bedok reservoir for the Regatta (dragonboat racing) and for cheering leading competition. Though it started to rain, it did not dampen our spirits to keep on cheering. I even cheered till my voice went sore and sounded like a man!
(I wanted to test my limit but in the end pai sei myself when I talked to the guys with that voice!)But sadly, after all events ended, we only
won BEST Cheerleading for our school! But it was a big achievement to us as this is the first time winning it! (We used to win every year the best-spirited and best school. But sadly, most awards taken by business and IT).
Then, we went out as a sub-empire to eat dinner at KFC. (well, not everyone but at least a big group of us!) We had a wonderful time just chatting and playing funny games like "How many mehmeh?", "Who died?", "Milk & Chocolate". Some of us did not get it after playing it for a few rounds
(some even did not get it when doing an obvious action!) It was so funny just seeing the blur looks on some of their faces!
This camp was an exciting and memorable time in my life as these are the people whom I’m going to see for the next three years. Basil really is a great team as I enjoyed everyone’s company and our antics we do to each other! My GLs also make an impact on me as being good leaders. And I may consider being one in the next orientation camp! So for now, I’ll just start doing the infectious phrase…Chop Chili Chop!
